SCOTT AND I BOTH RESIGNED FROM OUR JOBS!!
Actually, Scott just did this yesterday - but I gave my notice over a year ago. I work for an awesome company who treats me (almost) like family and I wanted to give them ample notice of my impending departure (because I am sooooo important and sooooo hard to replace I figured the standard 2 weeks just wasn't going to fly - ha!). I have been working for them for the past 4 years and have seen our little firm grow from 8 to 40. Pretty cool stuff. Considering I was the sole recruiter for most of that growth, I feel like I have made a little stake in the ground here. It's been a good run, but it's time to shake the dust (and the crumbs and coffee stains and ill tempered AC) of this old cubicle and SEE THE WORLD!
But I digress....
Soon - we will be JOBLESS!! Whoo hoo! Sounds pretty odd/insensitive to be celebrating such a thing given joblessness is still somewhat of an epidemic in our limping economy, but to be honest, we couldn't be happier! Are we idiots? Perhaps. But we don't think so. In fact, we think we're on to something here... Either way, it's official....it's happening...we are gettin' outta dodge!
Congratulations on your new freedom! Words can't describe how ya'll must feel. Can't wait to do the same!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about it sounding odd to celebrate it, but most people want to stay employed so they can continue with their normal lives. But you are doing something unique and can't be saddled down by a job right now, don't worry you can always go back!
