Second Sail of the Summer...

...and it's September.

Man, if we keep this up - we'll be 'rounding the Horn in no time!

It was FANTASTIC to be out on the water again...hopefully we can do this a little more often, considering we are leaving in two weeks.

Yeah.  We like to live on the edge.

Love,

Brittany & Scott

  1. Two weeks, wow! We just love the color of your canvas .. nice! Was wondering about pic in a previous post, I think a follower called it a Stack Pack. Looks like an option to putting the main in the boom. Could you provide info?

  2. Hey there!! Yes, it is a 'stack pack' by Doyle...they are awesome...basically the sail and sail cover are integrated on the boom, so no need to deal with taking on and off a cover...when you want to raise the main, just unzip and voila! And when you want to douse, just douse and zip up! Easy peasy! Hope this helps! :)

  3. Wow, the windows are very clear. What material is that?
As for the stack pack, how does it store when the sail is raised? Is there be chafe issues? I like the idea of an integrated sail cover but wonder about always keeping the jacks on.

  4. Phillipe - the windows are made of glass (not sure what kind, but it's super thick) - the hard dodger is a signature of Hallberg Rassy boats and is one of our favorite features of our boat...great for wet cold weather...we stay nice and dry...the stack pack has it's plusses and minuses i suppose, we opt for the easy route and ease of raising and lowering the main was what sold us, it's a piece of cake...why are you concerned with keeping the jacks on? Lazy jacks - whether you use a stack pack or not - make life a LOT easier! I came from a racing background where we always took the main on and off and now- i'll take lazy jacks any old day! :)
