The lake was so calm, it was almost Erie. But it sure made for a BEAUTIFUL sunset!
We "put-in" to Put-In-Bay around 8pm. The only issue we have had so far is that so many Marina's are operating on off-season hours, meaning we usually can't get anyone on the radio or phone after 5pm and have to navigate empty harbors at night with just our chart-plotter, charts, and LED spotlight. We are getting pretty dang good at finding harbors and docking at night, if I don't say so myself.
We went out for a light dinner and hit the "town" of Put-In-Bay which is CLEARLY a party place during the summer. Bars line the main strip, people drive around in souped-up golf carts and I'm pretty sure I spotted a discarded beer bong in an alley. We enjoyed some live music, had a few drinks and hit the hay by 11pm. I was never a beer bong kind of girl anyway.
We are inching closer and closer to Buffalo, NY where we will take down our rig (i.e. take the mast down) and prepare for the Erie Barge Canal - we are so excited!
Love,
Brittany & Scott
