Conch Men

"Hey sister!  Want some fresh conch?"

This is just one of the many, many things I love about living in the Caribbean:  that when you live on a boat in some sleepy little anchorage, you never know who will stop by to pay a visit.  These guys came by in Union Island to see if we wanted any fresh conch.  They had hundreds in their boat and were de-shelling them right then and there.  You have to be nuts to go hungry out here because there is always some bounty being offered.  Sometimes it's conch, other times it's tuna, grouper or even giant spiny lobster.  These entrepreneurial men and women of the sea are always quick to not only offer up the catch of the day, but a bright smile as well.  I love it.

Love,
Brittany & Scott
