A little over a month ago, I wrote how we were converting the starboard side of our salon from a two seat to a settee layout. I am happy to report that the job is complete
(aside from a couple cushions) and we could not be happier. The two seat layout was great for a cruising
couple, but we think the settee is
MUCH better suited for an offshore cruising boat and growing family. Doesn't it look fantastic?
We are so pleased with the results...not only does this afford us another place to sleep, but it actually gives us a little more storage as well. We had to recess our air conditioning unit a bit but our awesome carpenter,
Juan, made the whole thing look original. In addition, Scott and I requested a hinged top so
if when we need to access the air conditioner to fix and/or service it, it will be much, much easier.

Haha...Bob, you are right - but at about $2-3K to replace all the cushions, we just decided to keep them (the boat came with these). They are a leathery type of material so any spills will wipe right off them...but yeah, not ideal. Unless, of course, you'd like to buy us new cushions? ;)
