Scott and I were big skiers in our land-based life. Unfortunately, it's a passion that doesn't fit in too well with cruising because - in this part of the world - the seasons are the same. But that doesn't mean I can't don my ski goggles from time to time. Turns out, they are excellent at preventing the weepy eyes that result in onion-chopping. Man do I hate chopping onions...
We just knew these would come in handy.
Do you use them in squalls as well? If not, what do you do when it pipes up over 40-50 knots and the rain is just driving in your face horizontally?
ReplyDeleteI have done the same with my dive mask. It works great!
ReplyDelete@Anoymous - yes, the IDEA behind bringing them was in case there was tons of spray or driving rain...luckily, we have never had to use them for that and we've never seen winds over 38 knots (thank GOD!!). I prefer to just use them for onion cutting :)
ReplyDeleteI do the onion cutting on the boat most of the time, but my wife seems to be getting less sensitive with time, keep working at it.
ReplyDeleteI had a question about your sink setup, we own a Whitby 42 and are getting ready to upgrade to a two sink galley. Could you have a small post about how your galley is working out for you and what you might change?
I always hold a few matches in my mouth. The sulfer removes any tearing. Works Perfect.
