Grandma. Period.

Those of you who follow our Facebook Page know that my mom was here. After my last post where I described, in great detail, my daily workings as a solo parent - I don't think I have to tell you what a pleasure it was to have her. A local friend mistakingly referred to her as my "babysitter", but - no - my three kids are of the "all hands on deck" variety and she was a beloved helper who allowed me a few moments here and there to run an errand, do a chore or simply take a little time out. Not only is my mom a wonderful person and great company, but she is an amazing grandma who my girls adore to no end. Unless you are outnumbered by toddlers 24/7, you cannot possibly understand the impact one extra set of hands can have. Not to mention another adult to vent to when things go pear-shaped, as they quite often do with my fledgling (and very loud, rambunctious, yet joyous) crew.

Anyway, she was here and it was wonderful. We celebrated her birthday together, laughed together, cried together and had a few too many rum drinks on the beach with one another every now and again. We said goodbye to her this morning and it's left a tiny grandma-shaped hole in my heart. Knowing that she'll be back again in March, however, is my little rainbow amidst the rain. It's back to business as usual around here, until the next round of visitors; my dad in a couple weeks, and Scott's mom after that. If living away from family is tough (and it can be!) living in a primo vacation destination certainly tempers that a bit, as people definitely come to visit - particularly this time of year!

Here are a few pics I snapped during the time my mom was here with us. They sum up our time together quite nicely I think.

Thanks for all your help, love and support mom. Miss you mucho and love you even more.
The girls simply cannot get enough of the marina cats, grandma is in the background explaining that, yes, they are twins.
So. Much. Love. So. Many. Kisses.
When visitors come, it's an excuse to eat out. All. The. Time. Breakfast with the motley crew.
Have I mentioned my obsession with this stroller? The Kinderwagon Hop Stroller is my savior!
Just another day in paradise...every day!
Eating out at the beach bar. Just 'cause (it's so much easier!)
Pretty baby and pretty grandma.
We met some wonderful blog followers and they, of course, recognized the twins first!
A rare evening when daddy was home before bed.
Sisters, having fun, racing down the dock together.
Racing to grandma.
These two have had a very special bond since day one.
Love.
Spending a day in Cane Garden Bay.
Mom and daughter. Love her so much.
Until next time, grandma! We love you so much!

Nothing like the love of a GrandMa! I'm hoping we get many visits from friends and family once we make it south as well.

I love, love, love being Grandma. I can't wait till my grandson can go on boat trips with us. They come and visit; but I want that full on quality time. Maybe this summer he can come and spend a weekend. We'll make a boater out of him!
